The2023 BAFTA Awardsred carpet was the place to be on Sunday. The award show, held at the Royal Festival Hall, London, played host to some of the biggest names in Hollywood and beyond.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts announced theirnominations for the 2023 award showlast month, withAll Quiet on the Western Frontleading the pack at 14 nominations. In acting categories,Everything Everywhere All at OnceandThe Banshees of Inisherinboasted the most nods, with both movies also up for best film and best director, among other categories.

Jodie Turner-Smith wore a striking purple Gucci gown on the 2023 BAFTAs red carpet. The gown incorporated a number of details, like a sheer top, sequins all over and feathered details. The ombré purple feathers decorated the skirt as well as the sleeves and floral appliqués around the top and sleeves of the dress completed the many bits of flair. Turner-Smith didn’t stop there, though. The actress and model dotted gemstones on her face for a faux freckle look, adding even more shine to her ‘fit.

Gwendoline Christie wore a black Giles Deacon gown on the 2023 BAFTAs red carpet. TheWednesdaystar’s floor-length gown featured ruffled details from top to bottom, as well as a contrasting cinched waist and cap sleeves. For her look, which seems like it could have walked right off the screen of her Netflix show about the Addams family, Christie also wore two gold rings and rocked a bold red lip.

Cynthia Erivoturned heads in a bold Louis Vuitton gown on the 2023 BAFTAs red carpet. TheWickedstar wore the metallic structured gown and paired it with metallic accessories. The gown, which was an all-over copper shade and included fringe detail, flowed out behind the actress into a short train. She paired her look with gold jewelry and a gold clutch bag.

Sophie Turnerwore a lace Louis Vuitton gown on the 2023 BAFTAs red carpet. The long-sleeve, floor-length slightly sheer black lace gown was covered in jewels for slight pops of color and visual appeal. Each jewel was a different size, shape and color, providing little glimpses of fun throughout the look. The actress completed her look with black heels.

Ana de Armaswore a delicate pink Louis Vuitton gown on the 2023 BAFTAs red carpet. The star ofBlonde, who is nominated for the film at this year’s award show, wore a spaghetti strap gown with sweet ruffle detail at the top and a short train. She kept her accessories simple, opting for a small necklace and rings. de Armas left her hair down around her face and rocked a bold red lip, à la Marilyn Monroe.

Michelle Yeoh stepped onto the 2023 BAFTAs red carpet wearing a champagne-colored Christian Dior suit. Her look included cape sleeves to amp up the volume of the suit jacket. TheEverything Everywhere All at Oncestar, who is nominated for leading actress at this year’s award show, also pulled out all the stops with her jewels for the night, wearing glittering earrings, a watch, bracelets and a ring.

Danielle Deadwyler wore a bright Armani Privé gown on the 2023 BAFTAs red carpet. TheTillstar’s gown — a bright blue gown with green bodice — floated around her as she moved across the red carpet. She paired her look with Bulgari jewels and kept her glam simple, allowing her bold dress to be the star of her look.

Julianne Moorewore a soft black Saint Laurent gown on the 2023 BAFTAs red carpet. She wore the dress, which had a sweetheart neckline, with a bright white feathery shrug draped off her shoulders. Her Bulgari jewels shone bright on the red carpet and her red hair and complementary lipstick provided her only pops of color.

Cate Blanchettwore a black Maison Margiela gown on the 2023 BAFTAs red carpet. The dress, which she also wore for the 2015 Oscars, was given a touch of flair in the form of bold Louis Vuitton jewelry. Her stacked necklaces amped up the neckline of her gown and coordinated with her earrings and ring. She kept her glam low-key, with light pink eye shadow and lipstick.
Anya Taylor-Joy
Anya Taylor-Joywore a dramatic Schiaparelli Couture dress on the 2023 BAFTAs red carpet. Her two-piece look — which consisted of a mini stiff bustier dress and a matching corolla effect stole — had a mixed-texture effect with velvet and satin in a metallic champagne hue. She matched her shoes, jewelry and glam to the dress, opting for shimmers from head to toe.

Lily Jameswore a couture Tamara Ralph gown on the 2023 BAFTAs red carpet. The look — from the fashion house’s first haute couture collection — features a dramatic white train and pearl cage bustier. Because her dress had so much flair, James kept the rest of her glam simple, opting for Charlotte Tilbury beauty and a Jimmy Choo bag and heels.
Hoyeon Jung
Hoyeon Jung wore a gold Louis Vuitton ballgown on the 2023 BAFTAs red carpet. Ahead of the award show, she toldBritish Vogue, “We want to go a little bit classic so I’m wearing a custom-made gold bustier dress.” She paired her classic gown with a bold red lip — which she toldBritish Vogueis her fave — and a diamond necklace.
Nicola Coughlan
Nicola Coughlan wore a white Valentino gown on the 2023 BAFTAs red carpet. TheBridgertonstar toldBritish Voguethat for such a night, she wanted a gown that was “special” and Valentino was the only way to go. “There’s something amazing about what [creative director] Pierpaolo Piccioli does – he thinks about every woman. Valentino’s one of the only houses where I can wear [pieces] directly off the couture runway,” she said, adding that her dress reminded her of Jackie Kennedy with its “wedding dress feel.”
