Reflecting on the early days of their acting careers, Green, now 50, recalled being one of the first90210cast members to buy a house. He was able to purchase the home not because of his checks from the show, but because of all the commercials he appeared in, he said.
“I remember I was one of the first of our cast to buy a house, because I had money from commercials,” he told Doherty, 52, adding that he “bought a house in Burbank.”

“You were always really independent, I thought,” he told theCharmedactress.
Doherty — who was slightly older than Green at 19 when90210kicked off in 1990— said she bought her very first house a few years after the drama debuted.
“I didn’t buy a house, I think, until I was like 21 or something, 21 or 22,” the actress recalled, noting that the home was in Malibu.
“Yeah, I leased-purchased a house and then ran out of money and couldn’t afford it. That happened,” she said, and Green joked, “I love that my first house was in Burbank, and yours was in Malibu.”

Shortly after moving in, Doherty said she realized the commute to the90210set was “really hard,” and gave the starter house to her parents. Then, she headed to Los Angeles, where the show was filmed.
“I remember that one,” Green said of Doherty’s L.A. home.
“I rented alotof houses,” she recalled, noting that she rented because she “wasn’t settled, obviously.”
“Lots of money down the drain with the rental thing,” she said.
