Ohio police stepped in to help a deer in a twisted situation.
On Wednesday, Ohio’s New Philadelphia Police Department shareda video to their Facebook pageof Police Chief Tessa Pohovey, patrolman Dakota Garbrandt-Hill, and K9 handler Brad Geist working together to help a deer free its antlers from a hammock made of thick ropes.
When the authorities arrived, they found the wild animal deeply entangled in the outdoor hammock. Police officers toldFox 8that the more the deer tried to thrash around and free itself, the more tired and tangled up it got.
Once the deer tired out from trying to escape, the officers grabbed hold of its antlers to “control” it and then used a knife to “saw through the ropes of the hammock which was attached between two trees,” said Pohovey.

Per the caption on the Facebook post, “The deer was freed and ran off into the woods unharmed!” after some successful teamwork.
“I love when we have a good outcome. We have a lot of deer in Tuscarawas County, and when we saw the deer trotted off freely, it was a good feeling to save the deer’s life,” Pohovey told Fox 8.
