Baltimore Police had previously announced ina news releaseon Wednesday morning that Gamble had been arrested in connection with “the homicide that occurred on Dec. 17, 2023, in the Northwest District.”
The release said that an investigation had determined that “Gamble was responsible for the shooting death of his 2-year-old daughter in his home in the 6000 block of Park Heights Avenue.”
Gamble’s daughter suffered a gunshot wound to the head on Sunday night and was taken to Sinai Hospital shortly after 7 p.m., according to a criminal complaint, per WBAL. She died at the hospital, police said, per CBS News Baltimore.
During two separate interviews, Gamble allegedly provided “conflicting accounts” of the incident, according to the complaint. He first “implied that his daughter shot herself” and then later “confirmed that he was in the bedroom with his daughter when she was shot,” the complaint alleges.

Police secured a search warrant for the home and Gamble’s vehicle but did not find any blood evidence or additional firearms. Per the complaint, Gamble told police “he doesn’t know what happened to the gun or where it is currently.”
