As the fifth anniversary of Egypt ’s 2011 uprising approaches , Egyptian officials have hold back the administrator of 47 Facebook pages that are run by fellow member of the Muslim Brotherhood .
Many of the 2011 marches , which ultimately culminate in the large - scale of measurement revolt that brought Hosni Mubarak ’s 30 - year rule to an end , were plan using Facebook . Now , Reuters report , Egyptian protection force are concerned that alike incidents may bump again . Speaking to Reuters , an Egyptian Interior Ministry spokespersonexplained :
“ The administrators of these page were arrest on electric charge of inciting against state psychiatric hospital and spreading the estimation of the Muslim Brotherhood as well as call for Marche on the amount January 25th . ”
The Muslim Brotherhood was one of the driving force play behind the 2011 revolts , but was ostracize and deemed a terrorist system in 2013 . It ’s ill-defined how many members were involved with the 47 Facebook pages .
