In tonight ’s episode , “ Haunted , ” Adelle ’s friend drop dead – but luckily the idle woman had her brain scanned a few weeks sooner . So Adelle is able to program her accomplished personality and memory into Echo . ( And the fact that she picked Echo , the Doll most probable to go off - mission , seems interesting here . ) Newly ensconce in Eliza Dushku ’s “ reaching for the sky ” soundbox , she decide to solve her own murder . Meanwhile , Topher programs Sierra to become his nerdy best friend – and they do everything except have sex .
That ’s the thing about Dollhouse : I really conceive Whedon and company have barely scratched the surface of this premise . Look how much drama Caprica got out of one case of someone ’s Einstein being backed up onto a unvoiced movement and then doctor to a novel organic structure . ( All 300 megabytes worth of genius memory ! ) By include a premise where mastermind are both decipherable and writable , Dollhouse opens up so many more possibilities .
I ’m still really hoping this show gets a second time of year so we can see it really set about to dilute out .
