Disney CEO Bob Iger has bowed out of Apple ’s panel of directors ahead of what ’s certain to be a heated rival come November when both companies publish their dueling standalone streaming service . According to afilingApple present to the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday , he resigned on September 10 , coinciding with the company ’s annualiPhone extravaganza , which also unveil important details about its Apple TV+ service .
“ I have the furthermost respect for Tim Cook , his squad at Apple and for my fellow board member , ” Iger said in a statement to theHollywood Reporter . “ Apple is one of the world ’s most admired companies , known for the calibre and unity of its products and its people , and I am forever thankful to have served as a phallus of the company ’s table . ”
