Deadpool 2Is Better Than the Original—and Funnier, Too

Juxtaposing show tunes with violent activeness is just one way Deadpool 2 keeps its unique nature while not going too far over the edge .

There are moments in Deadpool 2 that are shockingly sorry and fabulously happy , and could , potentially , get you a little misty - eyed . But Leitch and his team never permit those feeling take away from the film ’s irreverence . A few of those tonic teddy do n’t ferment , but for the most part , any time things go over the edge , they ’re drop behind right back , then pushed back again . In the destruction , Deadpool 2 is a rigorous , smarter , honorable version of its harbinger . The writers and film director scrape up almost all the fat off the bones and injected adrenaline into what remains . That buy the farm for the natural process , the jokes , and the violence — but also the heart . Deadpool has always been about affection , but now with Deadpool 2 , he ’s about family too .
