Another DC telecasting show is apparently on the elbow room — and it ’s at CBS , well bonk in DC circles for , well … getting itslast DC superhero showand thenpromptly dumpingit a season subsequently . Maybe this one is thelong - awaitedexciting slant they ’d been hop for ?
Deadline report that CBS has given a pilot burner committal to a mysterious Six drama , produced and written by Suits ’ Rick Muirragui for Doozer Productions and Warner Bros TV . No other details about the series have been confirmed so far , and since it ’s only for a pilot , it may not pan out , but for some setting , the Secret Six team has existed in multiple forms since they first appeared in the late ‘ 60s . Here ’s the logline for the show , courtesy ofDeadline :
Secret Six centers on six virtuously equivocal unknown , each with their own unique specialties and secret pasts , who are brought together by an enigmatic figure who blackmails them into working as a team to peril the corruptness of the corporate and political elite .

Initially , the Six comprised of six ( duh ) underground agents , covert operatives sent on missions by a shadowy physique named Mockingbird , kept so hush-hush that each appendage of the team suspects another of their allies as being the true Mockingbird . The original comic ended before Mockingbird ’s indistinguishability could be revealed , before being revived in the ‘ eighty with a similar premise .
But perhaps the best - have it away edition of the squad is a more villainous looping created by Gail Simone and Dale Eaglesham for Villains United in 2005 . The initial group included Catman , Deadshot , Cheshire , a Parademon , and two newly - created characters in the form of Rag Doll ( a character recently revealed to beguest - starring on the CW ’s The Flash this season ) and Scandal Savage , the girl of Vandal Savage . They were yield an almost Suicide Squad - esque virtuously dubitable solidifying of mission by their own Mockingbird ( who turned out to be Lex Luthor ) . Several other major villains , like Bane , Killer Frost , Jeannette , and Harley Quinn have rotated in and out of the team since .
While the villain rendering of the squad is the more familiar take on the Secret Six , given the easily - drawn Suicide Squad comparisons ( and the fact Warner Bros. ismarching aheadon continuing that movie franchise ) , it would n’t be too surprising to see this TV version tilt more into the earlier reading of the team , as more of a covert - ops secret agent show with a blue border rather than another villainous squad - up .

But whatever version of the Six ends up in this possible serial ( and if it goes beyond a pilot order ) , hopefully , CBS will stick with this one a piece longerthan it did Supergirl . Do n’t be too surprised to take heed about a sudden jump to the CW in the future though !
