Sad news for comic journalism and the blogosphere , as AOL has decided to shutterComics Alliance .
Started by Laura Hudson in 2009 , Comics Alliance quickly established itself as one of the gravid and best comics word - sites on the Internet , thanks in no lowly part to its smart criticism , progressive posture , and wicked humor . No internet site was better or braver at calling out the major publishing company for doing ( or printing ) something horrible , and no site was more diligent at fighting the prejudices of comics fandom . They wanted comics — the company , the proofreader , the comics themselves — to be adept , and they crop very , very backbreaking to make it so .
The comic industry is a ripe place for their existence , but will be short for its red .
