learn the interview above and ascertain out the transcript below . The transcript of this conversation has been softly edited for duration and clarity .
Thomas Germain : Everybody ’s worried about AI stealing their job , but now LinkedIn has a new entourage of tools that are kick the bucket to help you receive oeuvre . And today we ’re utter to LinkedIn ’s VP of product management about what the future of AI in the job search is go to look like .

TG : So is LinkedIn an AI company now ? Can you tell me about the tools you guy have been work on ?
Gyanda Sachdeva : Well , LinkedIn has always been an AI company in many way . We have over a 10 of experience building AI product , and they ’ve always been behind the scene in a lot of way of life . But now we ’re roll out out young features that are very much front and center , which members can go through directly and interact with . So that ’s change , but we ’ve always been an AI first company .
TG : And what kinds of AI tools are we mouth about here ? Is it like chatbots or what ’s that go to look like from the consumer perspective ?

GS : So we ’ve been rolling out a figure of AI power feature of speech for our agio client and they help fellow member do a number of different things , specifically unlocking unexampled opportunity . So they could learn about a new topic , go deeper , or most importantly for many of our members , aid them with their job seek cognitive process , which we know can be very lonely , very overpowering for almost anybody . In fact , if you think about the job search procedure , there are candidly two parts to it . One is your basic part where you go through the movement of looking at every job verbal description , research the company , find where there is a match , push your sketch through , covering letter , et cetera . That ’s what everyone has to do . And then there is the bonus part , which some job seeker do where they reach out to hoi polloi at the party , identify who could be a safe someone to get advice from , reach out to mentors , send a thoughtful subject matter to the charter manager .
But ultimately , when you combine both of these bodies of employment , job quest can sense like a full - time job in and of itself . And our goal for many , many years has been to make it extremely wanton for members to find the right fit for their careers . And with AI , we can take maybe a huge stride forward in making that fall out .
So the unadulterated example is the raw features we are flap out . When you ’re on a job verbal description Sir Frederick Handley Page , oftentimes hoi polloi spend a mickle of time reading the details . What does the job actually look for ? What are the skills required ? What are the qualifications ? Takes clip . But now with one click and using AI , we can aid you assess your burst for that job . So you get a quick paper articulate , “ Hey , you are a dear fit for this job . ” Or , “ You ’re not a good conniption for this job . ” And it then breaks it down into why or why not . And then it helps you take appropriate activity . You might see there are a few skills that this job require that actually I have . I just never put them on my profile . Let me go fix my visibility or skills I do n’t have and then I can go win them . So these are just some of the changes that we ’re making that are a lot of effective features related to this , but it ’s all about making the business hunt mental process more efficient and more efficient .

TG : So it ’s helping surface relevant information and telling you what things you should be focusing on and serve you improve the way you ’re represent yourself ?
g-force : Yes . And really the second part of what you just pronounce , amend the style you submit yourself is so important in these processes and often overlook . And so a couple of ways , we are using AI to help you do that . When you identify skills that you actually have just not lean on your visibility , we assist you write that down . Many , many prison term masses have sort of a writer ’s engine block on when they go to their profile and they ’re like , “ I do n’t have it off what to say in my newspaper headline . I do n’t know how to compose about my experience here . I do n’t eff what to write in my about section . I kind of desire to see what other mass do . ” And here with the AI tool , we can give you that starting tip . So you ’re not take off from a blank canvas . We indite something for you that we want you to blue-pencil and make your own .
And then the same thing with AI assisted messaging where let ’s say you are on a job verbal description page and you see the hiring manager is list there and you want to reach out to them , but it can be very daunting to send that first message . “ I just do n’t know what to say , what would be appropriate in this moment . ” So helping you compose that and sort of infusing the company research that you have done into that first annotation can be really potent . So it ’s just not just help you go through the motion of the transactional part of the line of work seeking , but also the bonus part of the job quest , which can often be the harder one .

TG : So how do people get at this matter ? Is it free or do you have to pay for it ? What ’s the deal ?
GS : Yeah , so it ’s in reality useable to all our exchange premium client . It ’s rolling out slowly . Some of these features are available globally to all premium members . Some of them are still storm and it ’s useable at no extra cost to our customers . So whoever was a customer before is just getting these features in add-on to everything else .
TG : What ’s your preferent AI shaft that LinkedIn has out right now ?

GS : I have a few , but the one I will nibble is the assessment tool . So when I go on a Book of Job page , I can quickly with one click , find out if I ’m a good fit for this job or not . And not that I am occupation search , but when we were doing this enquiry , it was really cool to see how quickly it come in to the right ending . And it ’s the variety of research that I do n’t conceive anybody has fourth dimension for to go late on a party , on an industry , on the people you know at the ship’s company , your attainment and having or watching AI do all of that in a stock split irregular and separate you that , “ Hey , this is what the ultimate judgement looks like . ” Was a huge time recoverer . So I really like that lineament . And I experience that ’s also resonating with our members .
TG : Are you worried that if this affair works well enough , it ’s going to get you a job at a company that ’s not LinkedIn ? Is it going to labor you like , “ Hey , we really mean you might be good at Meta or Google or something ? ”
GS : It might try and then I will have to give it some mention , but I have it away LinkedIn .

TG : Of course you ’re loyal to LinkedIn . You would never .
GS : Never . Not until we get this to a blank space where many , many of our members are rule that note value that you just distinguish . Because ultimately that ’s the beauty of it , that you do n’t even have to be problem hunt . We proactively differentiate you , “ Hey , something just came up that might be a better fit for you . Check it out . ” And I guess that ’s the real unlock that will really help everyone , including myself .
