Indian Hills , Colorado — population1280 — has become an unlikely tourer magnet thanks to one resident physician ’s predilection for punning .
As spotted byMy Modern Met , the town’scommunity centerchanges its wayside signboard two or three times a week , and the message will make you express mirth or cringe — or maybe a little of both . “ dire summertime for Humpty Dumpty but he had a nifty nightfall , ” one sign read . “ I was strike by a bottle of of Omega 3 pill . Luckily , my wounds were only crack fish crude , ” read another .
The mastermind behind these sign is Vince Rozmiarek , a Tennessean at the community of interests center and punning - maker extraordinaire . “ I ’ve been copied on lots of photos of people posing with the sign , ” Rozmiarek tells Mental Floss . “ It kind of put us on the map . ”

Beyond puns , messages on the signs fit into a few dissimilar categories : world-wide jokes , random musings ( like “ What pass toOld Zealand ? ” ) , support for local sportsman teams , and playful jabs at the local police . Rozmiarek said he ’s been writing messages for five years now and has never repeat a house . He does , however , use puns he find online from time to time .
The first sign he put up was a rather convincing April Fools ' put-on . “ We have a heavy constabulary comportment in the townspeople of Morrison , which is next to Indian Hills , and they run a net ton of pep pill hole , ” Rozmiarek tell My Modern Met . “ The signal said ‘ Indian Hills annexed by Morrison , slow down . ’ Many people believed that japery , and the amount of attention it brought was really surprising . ”
One of his proudest signs is a Denver Broncos - related pun that give way viral following their 2015 Super Bowl game against the Carolina Panthers . The content , which referenced the last name of two Broncos player , take : “ Breaking news ! Large Panther run through by giant Ware - Wolfe . ”

" It is a challenge to add up up with fresh thought , but I essay to keep it interesting , ” he says . To see more signs like these , check out the photos below or head to theIndian Hills Community SignFacebook page .
