Lead Shot
A friend generate me a corking fresh Nikon 55 mm macro instruction f 3.5 with a Nikon roar focusing attachment a couple of days ago . I slapped a Canon 5D to the back of it and was trying to take a movie of the flower , but this little guy stuck his butt in the way . It turn out to be my favorite picture in the bunch . I had to pullulate at ISO 3200 with Canon 580EXii ostentation to get it light enough .

For this one , I shot through a four foot farsighted composition board vacuum tube to achieve the spiral upshot . To get the blue angel at the centre , I just direct it at a bottle of blue-blooded Gatorade .

I asked 5 friend from my hall at school to seize some torch . Then I ask them to run toward me with them . This was our first try . It was also our only try . After this , our RAs told us we were being too cheap after quiet hours . Shoot .

Shot on a Cellphone
This is a picture of the Engineering 2 building at the University of California , Santa Cruz . It was taken with an iPhone 2 chiliad in the good afternoon , around 4 post-mortem , when the sun was a scrap lower in the sky . The optical aberration you see in the foreground is something I ’ve been experimenting with , and is done in - camera .

…Reminds Us of WALL-E
I took this nip with my Nikon D90 with a 50 millimeter lens on manual mode . The shutter speed was 1/100 , ISO 100 and an aperture of f5 . A Nikon SB-600 ( ready to 1/13 power ) was placed approximately 1 meter behind the paper trade WALL - E and touch off via Nikon CLS . I care how the dust in the atmosphere was illuminated and makes it look like a space scene .

As a hot black pepper junkie , I shot this as a tribute to my capsaicin habituation .
The blast was from a pool of isopropyl alcohol directly behind the peppers . shoot on a dark Methedrine rag in front of a fateful backdrop . Minimal Photoshop needed- just dust removal and contrast curves .
f/11 , 4s , ISO125 . Canon 5D + 50 mm EF Macro lens .

1/16th Vivitar 285 into minuscule softbox , set go out rearward .
1/32 ABR800 into 30″ moonunit , set right .
1/4th Vivtar285 , snooted , under glass .

Medium froth reflector , position front leave behind .

It’s Just a Neat Shot
It ’s now been 5 months since I obtained my first DSLR , a initiate ’s Canon EOS Rebel XS . I have judge my best to participate in almost every one of Gizmodo ’s shot challenge to better myself , and I think it ’s been paying off . Here ’s my free for all blastoff . I took a pool raft from my back chiliad that unexpectedly had a spiderweb on one side of the rafts headrest , suspended in the web were several leave-taking and other things . I put the electron lens of my tv camera in one end of the headrest , using it as some kind of uncanny DSLR muffler . I pointed it at the pool and took this shot during bright daytime .

I ’ve always want to try infrared picture taking , and this challenge yield me a great excuse to do just that . This is a photo of a dying hemlock tree , which I took at Rainbow Falls this week . I used a tripod and an infrared filter and then did some tweaking in Photoshop .

I see the plant while strip the elevator car and really like how they were slightly translucent , so I grabbed my camera . I used a Rebel XTi with a prime 50 millimetre USM crystalline lens at ISO-100 and a f3.5 aperture and used a makeshift reflecting telescope . Used Lightroom to sharpen and crop the picture .

I was walk on the street of Manhattan and this road was under criminal maintenance . This guy was cut alloy rods off the footing and it produced these amazing spark .
